TAD is a circular urban acoustic barrier that tackles urban noise annoyance (i.e. Road Traffic). Acronym of Ternary Amplitude Diffusion, Ternary diffusion [1, 0 -1] matrix based on Maximum length sequence (MLS) is adopted to function as destructive interference layer, backed by an absorption substrate, and in-situ measurement reduces noise up to 13 decibels.
Aside from its function of combating urban noise up to 13 decibels on site provide a quiet Zone for hearing impaired and neurodivergent, TAD aims to promote biodiversity and placemaking with built in community garden and insect hotel.
TAD is implemented with plywood, soil ($\alpha\approx0.2$), bamboo and willow, with the front as insect hotel and rear, a community garden that meant to be a placemaking tool for spatial planning.
TAD is part of maker residency in Chemnitz, Germany, EU Capital of Culture 2025, CNC prefab at Vector Lab Kreativachse and assembled on site.
